Mortimer Dogs ~ Charity Lockdown Project

Mortimer Dogs

Charity Lockdown Project

During this second phase of lockdown, I had to postpone all of the work that I had scheduled with families for studio and location photo sessions. I decided to use the extra time I had on my hands to raise some money for charity. I teamed up with the fabulous ladies, Michelle and Katherine from a local business called Mortimer-Go-Walkies. Together we have raised money for our local schools, Mortimer St Johns and Mortimer St Marys.

Every day for nearly two weeks we met (socially distanced) in the beautiful woods around Mortimer and Ufton Nervet to take photos of the dogs that Mortimer Go Walkies look after. This is a new genre for me but I’ve discovered photographing dogs is much like photographing my own children, in that, they will do anything for a treat!

The project, which closed today, turned out to be a huge success and attracted a lot of interest from the dog owners in Mortimer. So much so I added a couple of extra dates where I used my daily walk to captured photos of the dogs in our local dog walking park. We have sold over 60 images and have raised a little over £550 for our local schools.

Here are just some of the gorgeous pups captured.

I’ve loved every minute of this project and like many people over lockdown, have developed serious doggy broodiness. Thank you to everyone who has supported this fundraiser by buying your images and a huge thank you to Mortimer-Go-Walkies for making it happen.

For me, it’s back to the day job of photographing people. I can’t wait to start my Christmas mini sessions on Friday and its a jam-packed December catching up on family photo sessions.

If you missed out on this project and would like photos of your dog, do drop me your contact details so I can add you to the waiting list. If there is enough interest I will definitely make this a regular event.

Send me your contact details to be added to the waiting list.
